The mark
A grocery mark where the trolley and the letter are one drawing. The ascender of a script F sweeps up out of a shopping cart drawn in outline, and the cart's basket is filled with produce — a wheat ear breaking above the rim, carrot, grapes, an apple, an avocado — so the loop of the letter and the load of the trolley share the same space.
"renzyé" runs on in a relaxed brush script with the accent kept, which is what stops the name reading as a typo. The two halves are set in different weights of the same hand so the join is invisible.
Three grounds rather than three finishes. Full colour on a pale watercolour wash, where the produce is allowed its own hues. The same lockup reversed to white over a dusk road — the real test of a black brush script, which has to stay legible once it is inverted onto a photograph. And the cart alone on black over flame, wordmark dropped entirely, because a mark this detailed has to survive without its name attached.
The board sets the orange against what it is borrowed from — citrus skin, tulips, bokeh on black, woven baskets — and pins the identity to three flat colours: a tan, a near-black and the orange itself.
